Self Confidence And Success

Self Confidence and Success: The Cycle
Self-confidence is one topic you will not miss in any discussion about success. When a successful lecturer talks about it, do we believe what they say? Do we whisper to ourselves and say “that’s you and this is me and it’s not gonna happen to me.” Interesting.  Even while you ponder over it, the level of self-confidence turns out to be the variance between you and the speaker. Two differeing outcomes, one common mechanism equals the snowball effect.  Self-confidence can help people achieve success and success gives them further self-confidence. It also means the lack of it can hinder your success and your lack of success will make you less confident with yourself.

What is self-confidence? It is trust in one’s ability and judgment. The level of self-confidence varies from person to person. We are tempted to state that success is based on on whether your self-confidence is realistic. Just think about it carefully - what is reasonable? Should a person who is not trained be less self-confident than someone with a high educational attainment? Should a disabled person restrict his self-confidence because of his physical limitations? No! The truth is that self-confidence is so powerful it can take you past your limitations. The majority of its power comes from the snowball effect.

Step 3: Failure reduces your self-confidence.

Step 1: Low or lack of self-confidence makes you fearful to try anything, even those things you can really do.

After stage 3, the next time you go through stage 1, it is performed at a higher level. And so the cycle continues.

Event 2: You can’t possibly achieve in something you have not tried or pursued. If you try anything new at all, you are almost certainly going to fail if you lack self-confidence.

And now, let’s imagine what a lack of self-confidence can do for your life:

Here is how the snowball effect occurs:
Step 1: Self-confidence makes you ready to try anything.

Step 3: When you’re successful, your self-confidence increases.

Step 2: When you have a crack at more things, you are more likely to succeed in most of them, if not all.

After step 3, you go through stage 1 at a lower level.

Self-confidence is like a muscle that you should exercise. If you don’t exercise it, you are just about guaranteed to lose it. In life there are no losers aside from those who have decided to become losers. In reality, they are just individuals who are lost in the vicious cycle of failure and low self-confidence.
